Animal Reiki for Dogs and Companion Animals

Gentle, all-natural energy work that helps your pet settle, release stress, and find balance from the inside out.

What Is Animal Reiki?

Reiki is an all-natural energy balancing technique that complements and supports your pet’s health and general well-being. It has no negative side effects, requires no equipment, and asks nothing of your pet other than permission to begin.

A session works on body, mind, and spirit. Most pets are very in tune with the energy around them, but they have no way to regulate how that energy affects them. Left unregulated, stuck energy can show up as restlessness, unwanted behaviors, and even physical illness. Reiki helps release what is not serving your pet and invites more positive energy in, creating balance from within.

Sessions are provided by Leanne LeDuc, an Animal Reiki Master Teacher (ARMT-RHA) based in Cadott, WI. Reiki supports the whole animal regardless of species, so dogs and other companion animals are welcome. No Initial Evaluation is required. Reiki can be booked as a first visit.

How Does Reiki Support Your Pet?

Emotional Steadiness

Helps anxious, reactive, and over-stimulated animals settle and stay settled.

Release From Past Trauma

Supports rescue and rehomed animals as they move past former experiences, including trauma, and reclaim a sense of wholeness.

Support During Healing

Complements veterinary treatment and recovery from injury or illness by encouraging deep rest.

Peace at End of Life

A quiet, loving presence for pets approaching the rainbow bridge and comfort for the people who love them.

When Pet Owners Should Reach Out for Reiki

  • Anxiety, restlessness, and noise sensitivity
  • Behavior changes with no clear physical cause
  • Adjustment after adoption, rehoming, or a move
  • Grief after the loss of a housemate or a person
  • Recovery from surgery, injury, or extended illness
  • Stress around vet visits, grooming, travel, or competition
  • Comfort and calm during hospice and end-of-life care

Like massage, Reiki enhances veterinary care, supports recovery from injury or illness, and helps promote relaxation and rest. It can help an animal stabilize emotion and move forward.

Three Ways to Book with Leanne

In Person

Sessions at the Canine Cottage in Cadott, WI, or in your home when your animal does better on familiar ground. Your pet is free to move around, lie down, or come and go. Nothing is forced.

Online

A live session by video, with you and your animal in your own space. A good option for pets who find travel stressful and for owners outside the Chippewa Valley.

Distance

Reiki is not limited by physical location. Distance sessions are scheduled at a set time, and you receive notes on what came through. This works well for animals in hospital care, pets who cannot be handled, and clients anywhere in the country.

What to Expect During a Reiki Session

A session runs 30 to 60 minutes. There is no table work required and no restraint. Leanne begins by offering the energy and letting your animal decide how close to come and how much to take. Some dogs press right in. Others stay across the room and sleep. Both are complete responses.

Signs you may notice during or after a session include yawning, sighing, stretching, deep sleep, softer body language, and an easier evening at home. Some animals show a shift after one visit. Others do best with a short series.

Experience Reiki on Its Own or Alongside Massage

Reiki can be incorporated into a massage session or provided separately. Many dogs benefit from both. Bodywork releases what is held in the muscle, and Reiki settles what is held in the nervous system. When the two are combined, dogs often relax faster and hold the results longer.

Tell us at booking if you would like Reiki added, or ask Leanne during your massage evaluation what she recommends for your dog.

Animal Reiki FAQs

Does my dog have to sit still for Reiki?
No. Your dog can move, sniff, lie down, or leave the room. Reiki is offered rather than applied, and the animal sets the terms. That freedom is part of why it works.
Does distance Reiki really work?
Reiki is not dependent on physical contact or proximity. Distance sessions follow the same process as in-person work and are scheduled for a specific time so you can keep your pet quiet and undisturbed. You receive notes afterward on how your animal responded.
Is Reiki safe for pets?
Yes. Reiki is non-invasive, drug-free, and has no negative side effects. It is appropriate for animals of any age, including puppies, seniors, and pets in fragile health.
Can Reiki help a rescue dog with a hard history?

This is one of its strongest uses. Reiki helps animals release stuck energy tied to past trauma, stabilize emotion, and rebuild trust. Many owners pair it with training, improving the effectiveness of the training itself.

Is Reiki only for dogs?
No. Reiki supports the whole animal regardless of species. Cats, horses, small pets, and farm animals are all welcome.
How much does an animal Reiki session cost?
Sessions start at $30 and run 30 to 60 minutes, whether on-site, online, or at a distance.
